  • Once established, we can usually start submitting claims within a couple of days.

4. What software does Ophthalmic Billing Solutions use?

  • We use your software  ~  making it an easier transition for you. 
  • We are experienced in OfficeMate, CompuLink, NextGen, Lytec, and various other practice management software.
  • Our staff is able to learn new software programs quickly  ~ In the rare case that we don't currently use your software we will do the training and work to accommodate you.
  • We will work directly with your software vendor in order to streamline your billing needs.
  • By using your practice software, you maintain control of your information  ~ this allows you to run reports and  monitor your financial situation.

  • We will provide you with a private toll-free phone number.
  • We will work with you to devise the most effective and efficient method to transmit information from your office to ours.
  • We keep your claims current.

6. Where do payments go when claims are reimbursed?

  • All payments go directly to you. 
  • OBS will download ERAs directly from payer websites and your clearing house.
  • If needed, OBS will coordinate with your office, EOBs that are sent through the mail.
  • We will enter payment information into your computer system keeping your records up to date.
  • You retain complete control of your money at all times.

7. Does Ophthalmic Billing Solutions provide credentialing services?

  • Yes - OBS does provide credentialing services.
  • OBS will submit credentialing applications and documentation on your behalf to the insurance companies of your choice.
  • Please note, that OBS does not have control of insurance company's time-lines or acceptance policies.


8. Does Ophthalmic Billing Solutions create and mail patient statements?

  • Yes, we send out patient statements. 
  • Each statement is reviewed prior to being mailed. 
  • Specific statements mailing schedules can be tailored to meet your needs.

9. Can Ophthalmic Billing Solutions assist patients with billing inquiries?

  • We have several different levels of support, depending on your practice's needs. Some of which include phone support for patient inquiries.
  • We can provide a team of specialized Customer Care professionals to respond to billing inquiries. 
  • We know the impression OBS leaves with your patients makes an impact on their impression of your practice. We consider ourselves to be an extension of you.

10. Can Ophthalmic Billing Solutions increase the number of claims being paid?

  • To answer this question, we will need specific information about your practice.
  • There are many reasons why claims are denied, or only partially paid  ~ whatever the reason, it has a huge impact on the financial health of your practice.
  • The reason for non-payments can be simple errors that need to be corrected, and then the claim resubmitted for payment.
  • Sometimes the reason claims are not paid in full are complex. 
  • This is why it is important that the original claim is not simply resubmitted, as many billing companies do, but each claim is analyzed, corrected and then resubmitted.

11. Does Ophthalmic Billing Solutions provide services for Optometry practices?
